Why plant in Toronto?

60 percent of the Canadian population lives along a 1,000 km corridor from Quebec City to Windsor, at the southwestern tip of Ontario. At the centre of this region is the Greater Toronto Area which has become the fifth largest city in the Americas, producing 20 per cent of the nation’s gross domestic product. Canadians outside the region like to tease Southern Ontarians about their sense of being Canada’s centre, but it remains true the nation’s capital is in Ontario, and the financial and demographic focus of Canadian power is clearly here too.
